Get to know our providers

  • Our Graduate Interns join us while they complete their masters programs. They stay with us anywhere from 6 - 8 months. Some Commercial insurance plans do not recognize professional counselor associates as billable providers; therefore, they will not pay when clients receive services. Because of this policy they provide their quality services at a discounted rate.

When your intern graduates and leaves Wild Wish, we happily transfer you to an incoming counselor.

Journey Stewart

She/ Her Graduate Intern

Joining Summer 2024

I believe in every person’s innate ability to heal. Through work that is guided by compassionate curiosity, my intention is to create a space where you feel safe and supported to deepen your relationship to Self and explore and transform how unconscious patterns of the past might be impacting you in the present.

My approach places connection at the core of our emotional and physical well-being. I am inspired by psychodynamic and Jungian depth psychology, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems, interpersonal neurobiology, and informed by somatic and mindfulness-based practices. My holistic, justice-oriented perspective to treatment takes into consideration the biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual aspects of a person and the environments and experiences they are exposed to throughout their lifetime.

The client-counselor relationship is the heartbeat of the therapeutic process, and my aim is to nurture a connection built on the foundation of trust, compassion, respect, and authenticity, so that I may support you as you do the brave work of self-discovery, attuning to the wisdom of your body, and transforming into the fullest version of yourself. My hope is that together, we can create a container that embraces the wholeness of our humanness where all of our parts are welcome just as they are; a space to laugh and cry, grieve and rage, reclaim pleasure, rest, and celebrate both the major milestones and simple joys that carry us through.

My work is supported by my education and experience as a graduate student in the Professional Mental Health Counseling program at Lewis & Clark College. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Development and Sociology from the University of Utah and extensive experience working as a nonprofit program manager with organizations across the globe. I also draw heavily from my intuition, lived experiences, and insatiable curiosity about the human experience.

Every person comes to therapy with their own story and needs. I believe therapy is a deeply personal and unique journey, in which we deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported. I also believe that there is power and healing in dismantling our internal systems of oppression so we can understand our values and engage more deeply with ourselves and our communities. As a counselor, my role is to empower my clients to better understand themselves, grow their self-compassion, and explore what brings them meaning.

I take an eclectic approach to therapy that pulls from Existential, Feminist, Relational-Cultural, and Internal Family Systems theories. This means I am interested in exploring how different parts of ourselves intersect and the ways the world around us shapes our reality, values, and relationships. At the core of my work, I strive to nurture a warm, safe, and open therapeutic bond between counselor and client.

I received my Bachelor degree in Human Development & Family Studies and Psychology and am currently completing my Master's degree in the Professional Mental Health Counseling Program at Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling.

Personal Interests

Jamie Ziemba

She / Her Graduate Intern

Jamie believes that we all deserve to live a life free of shame. Through a collaborative therapeutic approach, she knows that you can uncover your strengths and build a powerful relationship with yourself and those around you, and aims to create a space where every single part of you feels warmly welcomed no matter what you may have experienced in the past. Shame can cause us to question our self-worth, prevent us from giving and receiving love, and distance us from the truth that abundant joy is a right, not a privilege. Our world thrives on the oppression of all types of bodies, no matter what identities we hold. Jamie believes that having the freedom to talk explicitly about our experiences is a critical step in celebrating our authentic selves and creating a culture of justice in the communities around us.

Jamie takes an integrative approach to therapy that combines psychodynamic theory, Internal Family Systems, Relational Cultural theory, and attention to the body through somatic work. She views our identities as a kaleidoscope of beliefs, emotions and experiences, and you can expect to work with Jamie on understanding and creating relationships with each of these parts. Therapy can take us to difficult places as we sort through our pain, but as a pleasure activist Jamie will also spend time motivating you to experience joy as part of your healing journey. Growth is a cause worth celebrating!

She believes that the relationship between a client and their therapist is a two-way street and aims to create a genuine connection with each person who enters her office. She is sex positive, kink-affirming, and welcoming of all identities regardless of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status, relationship style, spiritual practice, size, or ability.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Jamie moved to Portland in 2021 and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling at Lewis & Clark College. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Cleveland State University and has a diverse work history including extensive time in the restaurant service industry. Her life has offered her the opportunity to build relationships with individuals holding diverse identities different from her own, so no matter what your background is — you are truly encouraged to come just the way you are!
